How many of you would still have your job if you showed up to your place of employment drunk, made a racially charged comment, bullied a female co-worker, and exposed yourself?
On September 18, 2024, Sycamore teacher and, at the time Sycamore Teachers Union (SEA) President, Ms Danielle Scrase attended the Sycamore Board of Education meeting intoxicated, made a racially charged statement about then HS Principal Mr. Taylor Porter, sent a bullying text message to a female colleague, and behaved inappropriately by exposing herself in a hallway (3 times) on her way to the bathroom.
If not for a whistleblower, the community would have been unaware of her actions and behavior. On Sunday, March 2, 2025 an article was published in the Cincinnati Enquirer, about the incident. The Enquirer article detailed the incident, the investigation, and the revelation that Ms Scrase would be returning to teach the classroom in the fall of 2025.
This website has been created to share information surrounding this incident, the relationship some Board of Education members have with Ms Scrase, and the opinion and belief that the leadership of this Board of Education failed to uphold district policies to protect students and staff from bullying and harrassment. This district has a long-standing policy of zero-tolerance of racism.
Information has been obtained by public records requests to the Sycamore School district, social media accounts, an documents shared by community members.
