In March 2025 a lawsuit was filed claiming the Sycamore BOE violated the Open Meetings Act. Statements were obtained from Mrs. Bitter and Mr. Lewis, under oath, as part of this lawsuit. The lawsuit claims decisions were made behind closed doors relating to Ms Scrase’s discipline and then those decisions were not shared in public session of a school board meeting.
