In 2021, Danielle Scrase was key in forming the PAC Citizens for Sycamore. Its intent was to influence those elected to the Board of Education. In 2021 the PAC campaigned for and solicited donations for Sara Bitter and Dr. Lynne Steiger. In 2023, Citizens for Sycamore only endorsed Victor Harris.

Ms Scrase donated to several Board members campaigns - both personal donations and via the PAC Citizens for Sycamore. This is not illegal. However, it does bring into question the appearance of Conflict of Interest and the ability for some BOE members to remain impartial.
