A detailed account of the September 18, 2024 incident through public records requests, social media and other formal documents

The Board of Education has the authority to terminate a district employee as outlined by the following policies. The BOE is the ultimate authority.

September 18, 2024 was not Ms Scase’s first violation of district policies. On January 28, 2022, Superintendent Chad Lewis issued a verbal reprimand to Ms Scrase for violating the confidentiality and non-retaliation provisions of Board Policies AC, ACAA and JFCF-P.

A lawsuit was filed claiming the Sycamore BOE violated the Open Meetings Act. Board President Sara Bitter and Superintendent Chad Lewis were questioned, under oath, regarding this lawsuit and the incident and discipline involving Ms Scrase.
